Materials you will need:
• Spoon
• Newspaper
• White Vinegar
• Baking Soda
• Pipette (optional)
•Film canister with a pop on lid |

This experiment can be a bit messy so you may
want to save this one for a nice day and conduct it outside.
Steps:
1.) Spread out some newspaper on the surface where you
will be conducting your experiment.
2.) Use your spoon (spatula) to place a spoonful of baking soda
in the empty fill canister (have the lid ready to be placed on
the pot).
3.) Either pour some vinegar in the film canister or use
a pipette (for less mess).
Very Quickly - press the film canister lid on the pot (make
sure it is in place and secure), turn it upside down Very Quickly
and place it on the newspaper. Stand back and watch what happens.
If you get the timing right the film pot will shoot up in the air
and make a loud popping sound.
Try doing this experiment with different amounts of baking soda
and white vinegar to see what different results you get.
This experiment explodes due to the pressure of the gas build up
inside (chemical reaction) the container.
