Chemical Reaction Experiment

Salt Crystals

Materials you will need:

• Cup/Mug
•Table Salt
•Warm Water
• Magnifying Glass
• A Warm Sunny Spot
•A Dark Colored Bowl

Steps:

1. Pour a tablespoon of table salt into a mug or cup
2. Fill the cup a quarter of the way with warm water. Allow the table salt to dissolve.
3. Pour the salt and water mixture into the dark bowl.
4. Place the dark bowl in a warm sunny spot for a few days to allow the water time to evaporate.
5. In a few days check to see if the water has evaporated and if so use your magnifying glass to see the salt crystals made by the solution.
