Surprising Senses Experiment

Sound Catcher

 

Materials you will need:

• Tape
• Newspaper
• Cardboard Paper Towel Tube

Steps:

1.  Smooth the newspaper over one end of the cardboard tube.
2.  Tape the newspaper so that it is tight and flat.
3.  Place your fingers over the newspaper end.
4.  Sing through the opposite end of the tube.

The sound you make sends vibrations through the air in the tube - making the newspaper shake.
